Role Description

The Senior Estimator is a full-time, on-site role based in Sarnia, ON. This position is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for machining, fabrication, field services, and marine repair projects, using drawings, specifications, and client requirements. Day-to-day tasks include reviewing tender documents, conducting material and labor take-offs, obtaining and evaluating vendor and subcontractor quotations, and developing detailed cost breakdowns and proposals. The Senior Estimator collaborates closely with engineering, production, and project management teams to clarify scopes, assess risks, and optimize methods for cost-effective delivery. The role also involves tracking historical cost data, refining estimating tools and standards, supporting bid negotiations with clients, and contributing to continuous improvement of estimating processes.
