Job Description

Incorporated in 1955, Ocean Steel services several markets, including Atlantic Canada, the Eastern United States, Bermuda and the Caribbean. Although they specialize in fabricating and erecting structural steel for buildings and bridges, they also manufacture and install platework, such as breechings, stacks, ducts, penstocks, process & storage tanks and custom process‑equipment. Ocean Steel’s two New Brunswick plants include the original location in Saint John and the York Steel Plant in Fredericton, which was acquired in 1995.

Responsibilities

• Metal core (MCAW) welding on structural steel building components
• Operate various welding equipment and tools to weld in various positions (i.e., Vertical/Horizontal)
• Set up wire‑fed welding machines manually using control buttons
