Weld Manufacturing Engineer

Description
- Lead daily operations in the weld area, supervising 4–8 welders
- Drive process improvements focused on safety, quality, and throughput
- Implement and maintain work instructions, training programs, and standard operating procedures
- Oversee new weld fixtures and equipment (recent $2M investment) to optimize workflow
- Ensure each weld stage meets required cycle times and production targets
- Conduct weld inspections; perform CWB‑related duties if certified
- Support ramp‑up activities for new contracts (e.g., Romada)
- Troubleshoot weld quality issues and collaborate with engineering on corrective actions
- Maintain lean manufacturing practices and continuous improvement initiatives
- Monitor safety compliance and drive safety improvements across the weld area
- Provide technical guidance to welders; mentor welders transitioning into engineering roles
