Job Summary:
The Volunteer Program Coordinator is responsible for coordination of patient care volunteers to meet patient and family needs of NorthStar Care Community (NSCC).Essential Functions:
1. Works with Manager, Volunteer Program to identify and recruit patient care volunteers.
2. Arranges for volunteers for every appropriate patient; ensures volunteer activities are provided in
accordance with the plan of care and that all volunteer interactions are documented in the patient
record.
3. Contacts patients and families as needed and develops and updates documents.
4. Maintains volunteer plan of care in electronic health record.
5. Reviews volunteer documentation for appropriateness, clarity; reinforces confidentiality.
6. Ensures all volunteer standards comply with State and Federal regulations.
7. Participates in quality improvement initiatives.
