Join Vision Loss Rehabilitation Canada (VLRC) in Peterborough, Ontario, as a Vision Loss Rehabilitation Specialist. Support people with partial sight through assessments, training, and community outreach initiatives.
In this permanent full-time role, you will conduct thorough assessments and recommend aids to enhance clients' residual vision. You will work collaboratively with other health practitioners and participate in community education sessions, empowering individuals to regain independence. Your expertise will help bridge connections between clients and available services.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform low vision assessments for clients
• Instruct on the use of optical and non-optical devices
• Liaise with healthcare teams and community agencies
• Deliver public education seminars on vision health
• Participate in multi-disciplinary meetings regularly
Requirements:
• Graduate from a relevant health care program
• ACVREP certification eligibility
