Virtualization Engineer
is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining virtualized IT environments to optimize server, storage, and network resources. They work with virtualization technologies to improve system efficiency, scalability, and availability while reducing hardware dependency and operational costs. The role involves troubleshooting, performance tuning, and ensuring the stability of virtual infrastructures.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and manage virtual environments using platforms such as VMware, Hyper-V, or Citrix
- Configure and maintain virtual machines (VMs), virtual networks, and storage systems
- Monitor performance, optimize resources, and troubleshoot virtualization issues
- Collaborate with IT teams to integrate virtualized infrastructure with physical systems
- Implement disaster recovery, backup, and high-availability solutions for virtual environments
