About the role

The Victim Assistance Scheme (VAS) helps victims of serious crime in New Zealand to cover some of the costs related to the crime, the justice process, and recovery. The VAS Administrator role is key to ensuring the facilitation and coordination of VAS.


This role is based in our National Office in Wellington, and the core responsibilities include:

  • Accurate and timely processing and review of VAS applications, payments, and expenditure 
  • Collaboration within the Victim Support team and with external stakeholders to ensure a seamless delivery of VAS and counseling for victims
  • Participate in the development of procedures to contribute to the smooth administration of VAS
  • Assist with the development and implementation of any future VAS changes or initiatives.
