Urban Planning Technician

A Planner is responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

• Assist in the preparation, submission, and tracking of planning applications, including Official Plan Amendments, Zoning By-law Amendments, Site Plan Approvals, and Subdivision/Condominium applications.
• Prepare and interpret planning drawings, maps, and graphics using AutoCAD, GIS, and other planning software.
• Research zoning by-laws, official plans, and provincial policies relevant to development proposals.
• Compile and analyze demographic, environmental, and land use data to support planning reports and presentations.
• Prepare planning justification reports, public consultation materials, and correspondence with clients and municipalities.
• Support coordination between planning, engineering, and architectural teams for integrated project delivery.
• Attend municipal meetings, public consultations, and site visits as required.
