Job Description

A Unix Lead (Linux/AIX/Solaris) manages critical server infrastructure, leading design, patching, and troubleshooting across multi-OS platforms (RHEL, AIX, Solaris) to ensure high availability and security. This role involves 24/7 support, scripting (Shell/Python) for automation, L3 troubleshooting, and managing virtualization tools like HMC/VIOS.

Core Responsibilities

  • Infrastructure Management: Installing, configuring, and maintaining Linux, IBM AIX, and Oracle Solaris systems.
  • Patching & Security: Executing OS, hardware, and firmware patching/vulnerability management (e.g., BigFix).
  • Performance & Tuning: Monitoring system performance, troubleshooting complex, high-level, or recurring issues (L2/L3 support).
  • Clustering & Storage: Managing high-availability environments using technologies like Veritas Cluster and GPFS.
