Underwriter

The Underwriter will adjudicate mortgage applications by assessing prospective clients. Assessing risk and ensuring all applications adhere to both quality and service standards remains the overarching focus for this role.

Key responsibilities:

• Make prudent credit decisions on complex mortgage files
• Receive, review, analyze and verify mortgage applications for completeness, accuracy, suitability and risk
• Adhere to applicable compliance obligations
• Review, prepare and make considered recommendations
• Manage high work volumes to meet tight time lines with high-quality, due-diligence standards.
• Conducted comprehensive loan application reviews, assessing borrower information, financial documents, and credit history

Requirements:

• 3-4 years of retail mortgage underwriting experience
• Experience in reviewing and evaluating documents (income, down-payment, offers, etc)
