Underwriter

Job Purpose

To plan and monitor for underwriting and risk selection activities towards enhance portfolio growth and profitability and ensuring compliance to stipulated guidelines and regulation to ensure the objective is met

Job Responsibilities

• Collab and synergize with Sales to make accurate and sound underwriting decisions that achieve the budgeted Gross Written Premium for the Commercial Underwriting team.
• Manage the portfolio to ensure profitability of the budgeted combined ratio, loss ratio for Fire Insurance.
• Execute overall company’s underwriting direction based on current market condition/experience to ensure profitability.
• Review renewals and provide recommendations to improve underwriting results.
• Ensure all documentation related to the risks are made available i.e. adequate underwriting information, claims experience to enable proper underwriting of the risks with correct rating and terms.
