Job Summary
The research assistant will support the project on Disentangling causes of Rhythmic Bedding and Variations in Total Organic Carbon content in Mixed (Siliciclastic-carbonate) fine-grained marine deposits of the Cenomanian-Turonian Western Interior Seaway.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Assists in the coordination of the project.
Assists in data and sample collection from fields (southern Colorado and west Texas) and core research centers (BEG Core repository, Austin).
Sample preparation in the lab. Specific tasks may include sample cutting and polishing, making thin section billets and polished pellets, grinding and making powders.
Observations and data collection in the field and lab.
Compilation of results into reports or presentations.
Maintain participant data and assist with reporting requirements of the project.
