Job Description

Position:
The Thermal Systems Engineer is responsible for the prediction of heat transfer and energy usage in a vehicle. The specific focus is analyzing the powertrain cooling and heat management of forward vehicle programs. Thermal Systems Engineering integrates attributes including Mass properties, Aerodynamics, Climate, Fuel economy and Performance feel. Members of the section use CAE and physical test methods to quantify system level impacts on the vehicle underhood, underbody, and cabin due to powertrain heat. The responsibilities of the Thermal Systems Engineer include design, development, validation, and launch, including prototype builds of thermal systems, subsystems, and components.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science or Engineering.
- Good understanding of vehicle energy usage and Systems Engineering.
- Good understanding of powertrain systems functionality and efficiency improvement, including ICE and xHEV powerpacks.
