Transportation Manager

Position Summary

The Transportation Manager is responsible for contributing to the strategic direction of the transportation team and managing the transportation and distribution system and procedures to ensure the efficient and economical delivery of Gordon Food Service’s products. The role includes reviewing proposals, recommending rate changes, and ensuring compliance with transportation regulations.

Responsibilities

• Manages transportation services through the consistent application of standard practices and procedures.
• Collaborates regularly with sales staff to ensure customer satisfaction and attends sales meetings, visits customer locations, advises Customer Development Specialists on challenges, and approves off-day delivery requests and temporary requested routes.
