Looking to build a career in rail maintenance?

We are seeking a motivated and safety-focused Maintenance Trade Assistant to join our Rail Maintenance team in Altona, VIC! Working alongside qualified Mechanical and Electrical Technicians, you will support the maintenance, servicing and upkeep of locomotive rolling stock to ensure safe and reliable operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist qualified tradespeople with rolling stock maintenance activities.
  • Perform cleaning, inspections, lubrication and general workshop tasks.
  • Maintain accurate records and complete job documentation as required.
  • Identify and report faults, defects, hazards and improvement opportunities.
  • Support safe work practices and ensure PPE is worn and maintained correctly.
