The primary purpose of this position, TOOLMAKER (FT EXPLOSIVES), WG-3416-13, is to fabricate, overhaul, and repair tools, jigs, fixtures, holding devices, and special tools required for machining, cutting, and testing propellant and other explosive ordnance devices for solid propellant rocket motors and explosive material for various aging and surveillance programs. Responsibilities Fabricate, overhaul, repair tools, jigs, fixtures, and gages used in machining and propellant/explosive materials testing. Set up and operate common machine tools and attachments to perform special and precise machining operations by devising and constructing fixtures and holding devices.
