Position Overview

Technical Specialist, Emerging Technology (Non-Union) – Full‑time, 35 hours/week, Hybrid. Location: Vaughan, ON (Cityview) or Guelph, ON (Southgate). Salary Grade: 14 ($87,992 – $109,990 annually).

Reporting to the Technical Manager, Emerging Technology, this role researches, evaluates, and supports implementation of innovative solutions that enhance the performance of Alectra’s distribution grid.

Responsibilities

• Conduct market research, technology assessments, and technical evaluations on emerging grid technologies such as EVs, microgrids, DERMS, VPPs, and net‑zero solutions.
• Monitor industry trends and support technology intelligence efforts to inform innovation strategies.
• Participate in industry events, conferences, and site visits to stay current on advancements.
