Teaching Assistant

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with severe and profound learning difficulties throughout all aspects of their school day and education
• Assist with communication development using AAC, sensory strategies, and specialist approaches
• Provide personal care, including feeding, toileting, and mobility support as appropriate (full training provided)
• Work collaboratively with teachers, professionals and families
• Support pupils on educational visits and in the local community
• Help deliver engaging activities tailored to individual needs
• Build trusting relationships that support pupils' emotional wellbeing, safety, and independence
• Be flexible and confident in working across multiple sites as required to meet the needs of the school
• Provide high-quality training across varying areas including the curriculum, communication, sensory learning, medical needs (as appropriate), and behaviour support
