KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plan and deliver high-quality swimming lessons for children aged 4–7 (Reception to Year 2)
  • Assess pupils’ swimming ability and monitor their progress over time
  • Adapt teaching to support a range of abilities and confidence levels
  • Develop children’s water confidence, stroke technique and understanding of water safety
  • Ensure all sessions are conducted in line with current safety regulations, safeguarding procedures and recommended pool ratios
  • Maintain a safe, organised and hazard-free pool environment
  • Work collaboratively with school staff to ensure the smooth running of sessions
  • Be available to communicate with parents informally, where appropriate, regarding pupil progress
