Overview

Fife Nature Records Centre is the Local Environmental Records Centre for the area, providing a quality wildlife information and data resource. The Centre collates and shares biodiversity information to inform decision‑making, guide conservation work and support research. This role provides an opportunity to assist and support the Information Officer and gain experience in the sector.

Responsibilities

  • Collate, validate and enter biological records into the Recorder 6 database.
  • Use tools such as Record Cleaner, Excel, ArcGIS and R, and access records from online platforms such as iRecord and the NBN Atlas.
  • Interact with a wide range of recorders, from beginners submitting records to expert recorders who verify them.
  • Support the maintenance and growth of the wildlife information resource, ensuring accuracy and detail.
