Description:

Furnishes sterile and non-sterile supplies, equipment and services for the care and treatment of patients. Adheres to MercyOne's performance expectations and performs all defined services and other related duties in accordance with the mission, vision and values of MercyOne.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Decontaminates dirty equipment and supplies.

  • Sorts items for proper handling and cleaning.
  • Selects cleaning process and level of decontamination required.
  • Receives, sorts and cleans instruments and equipment in accordance with policies and AAMI standards.
  • Disassembles surgical instrument trays and equipment according to manufacture’s recommendations.
  • Decontaminates and processes instrumentation through washer disinfector or sonic cleaner.
