Staff Accountant

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support core accounting operations for an organization based in Maryland. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for someone with strong general ledger experience who can maintain accurate financial records, assist with tax-related activities, and contribute to reliable month-end and year-end reporting. Candidates with a background in government fund accounting, particularly within state or local government environments, will be highly valued.

Responsibilities:
• Manage general ledger activity, ensuring financial transactions are recorded accurately and in a timely manner.
• Prepare and post journal entries while maintaining proper supporting documentation for all accounting adjustments.
