Job Description
**Position Overview**
The Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) supports the Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) in providing services to students with speech, language, and communication disorders. The SLPA works under the direct supervision of a licensed SLP to implement therapy plans and assist in improving students’ communication skills to enhance academic success.
**Key Responsibilities**
**Therapy Support**
1. Implement speech-language therapy activities designed by the supervising SLP
2. Provide direct services to students individually or in small groups
3. Assist students in developing articulation, language, fluency, and social communication skills
4. Reinforce skills in classroom and other school settings as appropriate
**Assessment Assistance**
1. Assist the SLP during assessments and screenings
2. Gather data and observations to support evaluations
