General purpose of the position

This position is responsible for leading Humane World For Animals India's development and implementation of public policy in farm animal protection through representing Humane World For Animals India in government, scientific and animal welfare forums and supporting the organization's engagement with key stakeholders.

Essential duties and responsibilities

Policy Analysis and representation (75%)

• Develops and implements strategy to work with Government of India and several state governments to develop public policy promoting farm animal welfare.
• Develops and leverages existing relationships with key government ministries, universities, to bring in policies to transition the egg industry to cage-free production and crate - free production.
