Special Needs Teaching Assistant Primary

Academics, local education agency, is hiring Special Needs Teaching Assistants for Primary schools across South Yorkshire. Full or part‑time roles, including flexible supply positions, are available. The role is temporary and will start May 2026 onwards, working across primary schools in Sheffield.

About the Role

To support class teachers, promoting student independence and wellbeing. No two days are the same. From helping with daily routines and personal care to encouraging social engagement and supporting activities, you’ll play a vital role in enriching the lives of the people we support.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide tailored support based on individual needs & EHCP.
• Encourage & participate in meaningful activities, both in the home & the community.
• Build strong, trusting relationships with local Primary clients of Academics.
• Maintain accurate records & communicate effectively with the team.
