Join the kitchen leadership team at The Tote & Furnace, a well‑known local venue in Trentham, Upper Hutt. We’re currently looking for an experienced Sous Chef to support the day‑to‑day operation of the kitchen and help lead a strong, service‑focused brigade. This role is ideal for a chef who thrives in fast‑paced hospitality environments, enjoys mentoring junior staff and takes pride in delivering consistent, quality food during high‑volume service.

Responsibilities

• Support the Head Chef in leading day‑to‑day kitchen operations.
• Lead service and maintain quality standards during busy trade periods.
• Assist with ordering, stock control and minimising wastage.
• Support roster management and kitchen organisation.
• Train, mentor and develop junior chefs and kitchen staff.
