Job Description

Piper Companies is seeking a Software Engineer to join us in Mclean, Va. The Software Engineer will be responsible for designing software solutions to improve traffic safety.

Responsibilities of the Software Engineer include:

  • Traffic analysis: Study how traffic moves through roadway links, intersections & entire transportation networks
  • Design solutions to improve traffic safety: Smart signals, sensors, automated traffic management, operational improvements, infrastructure upgrades
  • Traffic modeling & Simulating: Run simulation software, build traffic scenarios, use hardware in the loop systems, develop scripts or code to automate or customize solutions, work with API’s to conduct modes, tools, or systems
  • Testing & Validation: Test accuracy of traffic models, Simulation performance, functionality of ITS Systems and equipment
