Kapacity.io, previously backed by Y Combinator and acquired by EnergyHub in 2024, focuses on the European energy market, offering an energy management platform to energy companies, allowing them to connect residential heat pumps, EVs and batteries to a Virtual Power Plant. EnergyHub is the leading residential Virtual Power Plant provider in North America, with over 2.5 million connected residential devices.

Virtual Power Plants (VPP) allow energy companies to adjust their customers’ power consumption to reduce grid congestion and benefit from price volatility.
