Social Worker - Inpatient

Summary This position serves the Inpatient Social Worker at the Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System (CAVHS) and provides a high level of skill in assessing and treating the complicated psychosocial problems of Veterans. Weekend and Weekday positions. Responsibilities Total Rewards of a Allied Health Professional Inpatient Social Worker duties include, but not limited to: Clinical Functions: Establishes and maintains effective therapeutic relationships with Veterans/support systems and independently works with Veterans/support systems who are experiencing a wide range of complicated medical, psychiatric, emotional, behavioral, financial, and psychosocial issues. Identifies Veterans at elevated risk (e.g., frequent admissions, lack of social support, homelessness, substance use, guardianship needs) and implements targeted interventions in conjunction with the healthcare team to reduce avoidable readmissions and improve health outcomes.
