Summary of responsibilities

Reporting to the Manager Inpatient Mental Health Services successful candidate will work in all areas of acute care. An energetic and enthusiastic interprofessional team member, your commitment to meeting the social work needs of newborn babies, pediatric and adult patients is clearly evident. Included amongst the comprehensive services your role provides, is leadership and support for assessing and addressing child protection matters primarily in the ED and with the WCH program, working closely with CAS as required. Key roles with the adult population are psychosocial assessments, support and direction for financial matters, counselling and matters related to Power of Attorney and Substitute Decision Making. Other duties include collaborating with Addiction Services and other Mental Health Programs to ensure safe transitioning of the patient after discharge from hospital.
