Mechanical Technician (Days) | Skelmersdale - £52k

Looking for a hands-on role where you can take real ownership of mechanical reliability and drive performance on site?

We’re hiring a Mechanical Technician to lead maintenance activity, reduce downtime, and support a strong continuous improvement culture ⚙️

What you’ll be doing:

• Leading planned & preventative mechanical maintenance

• Fault finding on production line equipment (MUST have experience working on production lines)

• Working on automated systems, hydraulics & rotating equipment

• Coaching and supporting fellow technicians ♂️

• Managing maintenance tasks through CMMS (SAP)

• Driving safety, reliability, and KPI improvements

What we’re looking for:

✔️ Time-served mechanical engineer (NVQ Level 3 / Apprenticeship)

✔️ Proven experience in manufacturing / FMCG / heavy industry

✔️ MUST have worked on production lines in a maintenance capacity

✔️ Strong fault-finding & preventative maintenance experience

✔️ SAP experience and continuous improvement mindset
