Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Load and unload goods.
  • Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials.
  • Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment.
  • Perform brake adjustments.
  • Perform emergency roadside repairs.
  • Perform preventive maintenance.
  • Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption.

Requirements

  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses: Air Brake (Z) Endorsement; Driver's License (Class 1 or A).
  • Documentation knowledge: Driver logbook.
  • Experience: Will train; Transportation/travel experience: Short‑haul.
  • Security and safety: Driving record check (abstract).
