Job Description

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

Responsible for the application of operational activities and procedures towards the achievement of production targets whilst governing and supervising the overall safety, health and wellbeing of all employees and support personnel. The role also encompasses the enforcement and adherence to safety, legal and management requirements, the execution of administration, people supervision and planning to optimise processes and achieve quality production. The candidate will carry and enforce the legal responsibilities as per Mine Health and Safety Regulation 2.15.1.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Blasting Certificate or National NQF 3 Rock Breaking Certificate (Metalliferous) is essential.
  • Shift Supervisor Training is essential
  • At least 2-5 years experience as a Miner and 1-2 years experience as Supervisor in mechanised mining
  • Room/Board and Pillar is essential.
