Overview

The Department of Chemical and Petroleum Engineering at the Schulich School of Engineering at the University of Calgary invites applications for a Sessional Instructor to teach ENDG 319 (Probability, Statistics and Machine Learning) in the Summer 2026 term. The course will be delivered in-person.

Course Description

Presentation and description of data, introduction to probability theory, Bayes' theorem, discrete and continuous probability distributions, estimation, sampling distributions, tests of hypotheses on means, variances and proportions; introduction to fundamental machine learning including linear regression, classification and correlation. Applications are chosen from engineering practice from all disciplines.

Course Schedule

Lecture: Monday, Wednesday, Fridays 04:00 - 05:55 pm

Tutorial: Tuesday, Thursdays 04:00 - 05:15 pm
