About the Role

D-Wave is seeking a Superconducting Integrated Circuit (IC) Designer to join our IC Design team, building chips at the heart of our quantum computers.

Responsibilities

  • Model, design, and improve performance of devices on a superconducting quantum processor, including Josephson junctions, SQUIDs, SFQ gates, QFPs, resonators, and qubits.
  • Use the EDA toolchain to identify shortcomings, conceptualize improvements, and develop solutions.
  • Design novel devices or enhance existing ones to improve processor performance or enable new capabilities.
  • Analyze the impact of the processor’s environment—packaging, IO, electronics, and cryogenic elements—and develop approaches to mitigate it.
  • Create superconducting integrated circuit layouts.
  • Predict, simulate, and verify device behavior for manufacturability and correctness.
