Newsela is hiring a Senior Software Engineer on a contract basis to join their Writing product team and contribute as an individual in a small, full-stack group focused on AI-powered learning experiences.

The ideal candidate will own the lifecycle of features, from vague asks to production implementations, and will leverage AI coding agents in development workflows. Responsibilities include shipping full-stack features, providing code reviews, and responding to production issues.
