Job Description
Reports to: The DEWR’s Assistant Director in the Department of Environment, Wildlife and Research
Responsibilities:
- Develop, analyze, and recommend strategic policy positions, briefing notes, and proposals on key environmental and wildlife issues, including climate change, biodiversity conservation, resource development, and protected areas;
- Coordinate and lead the development of departmental strategies, management plans and research priorities in line with Makivvik’s strategic goals and the interests of Nunavik communities;
- Act as Makivvik’s lead representative or technical advisor on various committees and working groups at a regional and National level;
- Oversee and coordinate complex projects, ensuring they are executed effectively, on budget, and in a manner that integrates the views and interests of Nunavik Inuit;
