Job Description

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Infrastructure, the Senior Engineer, Water and Sewer provides senior-level professional and strategic leadership for the long-term planning, management, and renewal of the City’s water and sewer systems. The position is responsible for overseeing professional engineering work and directing the work of staff and external consultants to ensure alignment with corporate objectives, service levels, and regulatory requirements. The role leads the development of utility design standards, asset management strategies, water conservation initiatives, and long-range capital planning for water and sewer infrastructure. As the City’s technical authority in water and sewer systems, the Senior Engineer provides expert advice on complex planning, infrastructure, and growth-related matters, working collaboratively with consultants, Operations and Maintenance staff, administrative teams, and external agencies.
