Job Description

Role

Teaching Assistant – Special Educational Needs (SEND) at a special needs school in Rochdale.
Temporary full‑time long‑term supply role starting September 2026.

Working Hours

Five days a week 08:30am – 03:30pm.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support pupils with Autism, Learning Difficulties, Sensory & Communication needs.
  • Work in small groups and 1:1 sessions.
  • Collaborate with the class teacher and other teaching assistants.
  • Manage emotions and behaviour to enable the teacher to focus on learning.
  • Support the implementation and progress of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Liaise with outside professionals and parents when required.
  • Report on progress and incidents.

  • Good Ofsted rating 2023.
  • Oversubscribed special school for children aged 11‑16.
  • All pupils have education, health and care plans.
  • Secondary needs include autis...
