SEND Teaching Assistant

Overview

SEND Teaching Assistant at Lightcliffe Academy, Halifax. Long‑term contract starting September 2026 or ASAP.

Responsibilities

• Support students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) both in and out of the classroom.
• Work closely with teachers to deliver tailored learning and intervention activities.
• Provide one‑to‑one and small group support to help students achieve their learning goals.
• Promote positive behaviour and encourage student engagement.
• Build strong relationships with students, staff, and parents.
• Help create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
• Support students with social, emotional, and academic development.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with children or young people, ideally within an educational or SEND setting.
