Job Description

As a SEND Teaching Assistant , you will work alongside teachers and the SEN department to support pupils within lessons, deliver targeted interventions, and assist with individual education plans. Support may be provided on a one-to-one basis or in small groups, depending on student needs.

Secondary schools in Gateshead are seeking a committed SEND Teaching Assistant to support pupils with special educational needs and disabilities across Key Stages 3 and 4. This SEND Teaching Assistant role provides an opportunity to work closely with students who require additional support to access learning within a mainstream secondary setting.

Key responsibilities:

  • Supporting pupils with SEND to access the curriculum
  • Assisting with learning activities within the classroom
