SEND Higher Level Teaching Assistant

We need you to be able to:

• work with individual or groups of pupils with additional needs to support learning as directed by the teacher, SENDCo and Headteacher.
• support working relationships with pupils, acting as role model and setting high expectations.
• meet the personal and physical needs of pupils whilst encouraging their independence.
• support pupils to meet the outcomes outlined on the pupil’s IEPs or EHCP.
• plan and deliver highly adapted lessons which meet the needs of children from a range of year groups who have additional needs.
• monitor and communicate the progress of individual children and identify gaps in learning, planning suitable interventions to address these.
• effectively manage challenging behaviours, particularly those prevalent in children with SEMH needs, using a range of bespoke strategies where needed.
