Job Description

A specialist SEN school in South Shields is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team full-time from September.

The school supports pupils with Autism (ASC), SEMH needs, ADHD and communication difficulties within a nurturing, structured and therapeutic environment.

Responsibilities:


  • Supporting pupils 1:1 and in small groups
  • Assisting with learning activities and differentiation
  • Supporting emotional regulation and behaviour strategies
  • Encouraging engagement and independence
  • Working closely with teachers and therapists

Ideal Candidate:


  • Experience in SEN, care or youth work desirable
  • Calm, patient and resilient approach
  • Strong communication skills
  • Passion for supporting vulnerable learners

Long-term role with potential to become permanent.
