Job Description
We are currently seeking an experienced Section Engineer to join a major dual carriageway infrastructure scheme based in Cambridge. This is a long‑term freelance opportunity on a high‑profile highways project, offering competitive rates and an immediate start.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing a section of works on a dual carriageway project
- Setting out, surveying, and quality assurance
- Ensuring works are delivered safely, on time, and to specification
- Coordinating with Site Engineers, subcontractors, and site management
- Producing RAMS, ITPs, and daily site records
- Assisting with short‑term planning and progress reporting
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Section Engineer on highways or major civils projects
- Strong setting‑out and technical knowledge
- Background in roadworks / dual carriageway schemes preferred
- Valid CSCS card (SMSTS preferred)
