As a graduate from a maritime institute, you start working on DEME vessels as Second Mate Training. You have your STCW II/4 certificate in hand and collected by preference some sailing time during your studies to enhance towards II/1 and II/2

  • You work on board a TSHD, CSD or split barge under the Second Mate’s supervision

  • You learn about the dredging process on deck and on the bridge

  • You contribute to the performance of the operational activities and the optimization of production

  • You update navigation charts and books

  • You have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Nautical sciences or you followed an 'MBO-4' or ‘HBO’ education in a maritime academy or nautical institute
