The Safety Specialist plays a critical role in promoting and maintaining a safe work environment on construction projects. This position spends the majority of time in the field, observing work activities, coaching co-workers on safe practices, and correcting unsafe conditions and behaviors. The Safety Specialist serves as a hands-on resource to the project team, helping to improve safety, quality, and productivity, and may supervise lower-level Field Safety Representatives and Coordinators while reinforcing positive safety behaviors through recognition and rewards.
Responsibilities
+ Spend 100% of working time in the field observing work activities and identifying unsafe conditions and behaviors.
+ Coach co-workers on safe work practices and provide real-time guidance to correct unsafe conditions and behaviors.
+ Supervise and support lower-level Field Safety Representatives and Coordinators as needed.
