Requirements
- Sound knowledge of all applicable health and safety legislation within a manufacturing environment
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is essential. Experience within the forestry industry will also be considered
- Strong, assertive personality with the confidence to enforce safety standards, address non-compliance, and challenge management where decisions may compromise safety or legislative compliance
- Experience mentoring, coaching, and developing a Safety Coordinator
- Being qualified to facilitate legislative health and safety training (e.g., Safety Representative Training) would be highly advantageous
- Proven ability to develop and implement SOPs, work instructions, toolbox talks, and other safety documentation
- Hands-on approach with a proven ability to identify issues, implement practical solutions, and take ownership of resolving themnot simply make recommendations
