Research Assistant III – Department of Applied Disaster Emergency Studies

Duties:

The Government of Manitoba is undertaking a provincial after-action review (the “PAAR”) in relation to the 2025 wildfire events to assess emergency management activities, identify key findings, and inform future mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery practices. As part of the PAAR, BU is providing independent academic expertise to prepare a structured and coherent report that reflects the combined outputs of the review processes. This synthesis will be carried out using a program review approach that organizes findings and recommendations in alignment with its emergency management objectives, priorities, and desired outcomes. Up to four RA III positions are available to assist in the PAAR, including literature reviews, data analysis, the acquisition and evaluation of research materials and perform data/word processing. The RA III’s may work with and provide supervision for RA II’s also attached to the project.
