Reprocessing Technician (Medical Device Reprocessing Department)

Overview

To apply the most current techniques and knowledge for the processing of sterile products in order to provide high quality service in the supply of med-surgical products and instrumentation to user areas. Responsible for decontamination, reprocessing and sterilization of equipment, supplies and surgical instrumentation.

Education

• Minimum of grade 12 or equivalent.
• Successful completion of MDRD certification from an accredited college (completion of program within the last 2 years) required.

Qualifications

• One-year experience (within the last 2 years) working in an MDRD environment- required
• Adheres to hospital's workplace safety standards pertinent to position.
• Experience in the functions of assembly, prep and package, decontamination of surgical case carts/instrument/trays/equipment.
