A large financial organization is seeking a Mainframe Engineer for a contract opportunity through the end of the year. This individual will be responsible for ensuring the stability, scalability, and performance of mainframe systems through expert-level engineering and support. They’ll help lead efforts in system design, development, and optimization while collaborating across teams to drive modernization and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design & Development
• Develop and maintain COBOL and other mainframe-based applications.
• Create and optimize JCL scripts for batch processing and job scheduling.
• Build and maintain automation scripts for deployment and system monitoring.
• System Configuration & Support
• Configure and support z/OS environments, including subsystems like CICS, IMS, DB2, and MQ.
• Provide Tier 3 support for incident resolution and root cause analysis.
